Localized Professional Learning Offerings
Instructional Leadership Academy (ILA)
CEL’s Instructional Leadership Academy creates a school district community of principals, instructional coaches, teacher leaders, and central office leaders focused on one goal: improving instructional leadership and teaching practice in schools and classrooms across an entire system. Utilizing a powerful cohort model with whole-group and small-group job-embedded learning, the academy helps you answer the following questions. What does good instructional practice look and sound like? What are the skills necessary to develop stronger instructional leadership, and how do you use them? How do you drive better student learning results by leveraging existing teacher evaluation models to focus more specifically on the professional growth of teachers? |
Teacher Leadership Certificate Program (TLCP)
The program is specifically designed to meet the professional growth needs of K-12 teachers with three or more years of classroom experience that consistently play informal or formal leadership roles in their school or district context. The Teacher Leadership Program emphasizes learning experiences and outcomes that will support equitable student learning opportunities and contribute to robust professional learning cultures among faculty.
History/Social Science Teacher Leader Fellowship
During the last few years, California has implemented a new History/Social Science Framework, the State Seal of Civic Engagement, and the Ethnic Studies Model Curriculum. To address all of these changes, the Sonoma County Office of Education has created the History/Social Science Teacher Leader Fellowship for teachers who want to help design new learning opportunities for students in Sonoma County.
Math Teacher Leader Fellowship
Purpose: The expansive and beautiful nature of mathematics should be experienced by all students. Not only do all students need math, mathematics needs all students. Our collective future depends on this inclusive vision of mathematics.
In order to build Sonoma County’s capacity to deliver on this promise, SCOE is launching the Math Teacher Leader Fellowship. We will cultivate mathematics leadership in classroom teachers across the K-12 spectrum.
